"Graeme Phillips Memorial Ride"

 Saturday 26th May 2018

Come help us raise money for the Cancer Council in memory of Graeme, who lost his battle with cancer in 2011. Rosie and Will have organised the event for the past few years, and it always turns out to be a great day for all involved. All profits raised over the weekend will go towards this great cause. So get some friends together, bring your horse (or hire one of ours on a first in best dressed basis) for a day in the saddle. The Saturday night will be in full swing to celebrate the fundraiser! Book it into your calendar and contact Annie asap to reserve a spot on this not-to-be-missed ride. We would also like to encourage non-riding members to join in the fun as well! If you can't make it but would love to contribute to our fundraiser, we have a page on 'Do It Yourself' Cancer Council website.

  • $120 to rent one of our horses for the day, includes lunch on Saturday
  • $80 to bring your own horse for the day (or family rate of $250), includes lunch on Saturday

"Snowy Mountain 5-day Horse Trek"

Monday 26th - Friday 30th November 2018

$2,200 per person

Have you ever wanted to canter alongside wild brumbies? Ride horses throughout the Kosciusko National Park? Or even just get away for a week with like-minded people and allow the expansive scenery take your breath away? Then we have the ride for you. Each year Yarrabin takes a group of guests down to the NSW Snowy Mountains for a 5-day horse trek in November. This time of the year is particularly awe-inspiring as the spring flowers are in full bloom and the brumby foals frolic through the Australian scrub. We join the team at ‘Cochran Horsetreks’ to venture out into the wilderness. They have been operating for over 60years and run a very similar operation to Yarrabin except instead of cabins you are in quality tents and swags for the week. With their beautiful horses and experienced guides this ride has always proved to be a great week!

Most days include a spectacular variety of mountain scenery, including mountain tops and the majestic high plains, brumbies in the wild, limestone gorges, aboriginal sites, mountain stockmens' huts and historical heritage sites. Dinner is served around the campfire with comfortable seats to provide an ideal setting for the evening relaxing around the campfire and swapping yarns & poetry.

Some riding experience is required as you are in the saddle for up to 6hrs a day! Come join a group of Yarrabin guests (and Annie) and marvel at the fabulous mountain country, walk through the native Australian bush and lope along the open flats, see large numbers of brumbies, enjoy wonderful camp cooking, and the fun of a few drinks around the campfire talking about the day’s adventures.

Email us now for more information.

  • Sunday and Friday night accommodation in a hotel in Adaminaby either side of the ride (not included in the Cochran price, but organised by Yarrabin to ensure all guests stay together).
  • 5 days riding and 4 nights camping.
  • Loan of driza-bones, helmets, swags etc for the week if required.
  • All meals included EXCEPT Sunday/Friday dinners and Saturday breakfast before you head home.
