May is a magical time at Yarrabin

No rain to report out here in the Central West, but are having fun doing what we love – making people happy and providing fantastic country holidays and horse riding. School holidays have been full and fun, with one group returning for their eighth annual pilgrimage to Yarrabin!

May is always a magical time at Yarrabin – the leaves are turning beautiful shades of autumn, lambs are being born, there are loads of new baby chooks, and the weather is certainly not really crisp and cold yet. We’ve started the open fires, the games room with the new Table Tennis Table is getting a workout, the spa is simply divine….or maybe it’s the champagne people enjoy there after a horse ride? Kathy our cook loooooves our new kitchen, and the country-style meals she cooks are even more sumptuous than ever…

So here is what is happening over the magical month of May – plus an extra note on the last weekend in April….

Reunion Weekend 4 to 6 May

Join the Grafittis, the Dawson and other “Yarrabinites” who have been coming to Yarrabin for years (but they don’t look as they have aged at all!).

The weekend kicks off with supper on Friday evening, then a few good wines by the open fire. Graeme serves up his famous farm brekky on Saturday before we head off on some enjoyable riding through the forests. We’ll be moving stock over the paddocks on Saturday afternoon, then it’s relax in the spa with that glass of champagne!! The smell of Kathy’s roast lamb dinner wafts in the air, and we can’t wait to tuck into another great Yarrabin meal. More red wine, more open fires, and more fun and laughter that evening! John Grafitti is sure to tell a funny story or two!!

Sunday highlights include another big country brekky, and our most popular ride – the big canter up to the lookout where we can see for miles! More great food and one last paddock ride, before Devonshire Tea of scones and cake by the fire….

Special Treat for Mum’s Fri 11 to Sun 13 May

We all love to spoil the special people in our lives, don’t we? And mums are extra special! Why not spoil your Mum with a unique “Mothers Day Weekend” at Yarrabin. Not only will Mum be spared from cooking, but she will also receive a bottle of champagne and a box of chocolates.

AND if that is not special enough, all mums who stay at Yarrabin (with their children) will ride for FREE! Yes that’s right – free riding for Mums over the Mothers Day Weekend. That’s a saving of $120 per mum! Plus of course she receives that bottle of champagne and box of chocolates…..

Stay 3 Days and Only Pay for 2

Great fun, great rides, great company, great food at GREAT VALUE! Stay 3 days with us over the period 15 to 18 May (Tues, Wed, Thu and depart Friday) and only pay for 2! Loads of fresh air, open fires, and pure relaxation at world famous Yarrabin. Receive a complimentary bottle of local wine – for the first two families to book in for this fabulous mid week special!

Stockwork Weekend – Fri 18 to Sun 20 May

For all the cowboy and cowgirl wannabe’s!! Join our experienced cowgirls Annie, Kristina and Jessica, together with our whip-cracking cowboy, Harry, on our MOST POPULAR rides. You’ll be riding the range, poking cattle and sheep along as we move them across the paddocks, and enjoying a few long canters alone the way. Lambing will be in full swing, so you may even need to throw a poddy lamb over your saddle.

With a bit of luck (and praying??) we may even get a little rain. You can borrow one of our Drizabone coats and look like a real cowboy/cowgirl. And now you can also borrow some chappetes to make all the riding so much more comfortable.

And here’s another very special offer! The first two families to book to join us on this stockwork weekend receive a complimentary 30 minute massage. Nothing better than a great massage after a day in the saddle. Call us soon to book…

Special Horsemanship Workshop Weekend - 25 to 27 May

“You can never stop learning to improve your riding and knowledge of horses” says Annie. She has been riding for 40 years and still manages to keep her mind open to learn new things. She is also passionate about passing on much of what she knows to others.

Our Active Horsemanship Workshop encompasses elements of Ariana Strozzi’s “Intuitive Horsemanship” course from America, plus special segments of centred riding and sports riding (Special prize if you can beat Annie in the barrel racing!).

Our workshops are normally 4 day mid week courses. But Annie appreciates how busy some people’s lives are, and not everyone can get away midweek. So she has extracted the key elements of her popular longer workshop and squeezed them into a weekend.

We only take 8 participants so Annie can give you personal attention. We do have a number of spaces remaining, but you will have to let us know soon if you are interested, or would like more information.

Escape NEXT weekend – Thu 26 to Sun 29 April

Just can’t wait til May? Well why not join next weekend for an extended 3 day stay? We have some families booked in from Thursday, so we will have plenty of fun activities for you. Horse riding, relaxing, BBQs, miles of trails for mountain bike riding – let us spoil you.

Some family rooms still left for the 26 to 29 April period.

Always Something Happening at Yarrabin

Whatever your desires or interests, we have something for everyone at Yarrabin. There will always be loads of fantastic riding over our 2500 acres of pristine forests and paddocks, the meals are always sumptuous and plentiful, and we love looking after people. You can also just escape the hustle and bustle of the big city, reconnect with your family, friends and work mates. We promise to work extra hard to make your Yarrabin experience memorable – for all the right reasons!

There is loads of information on the Special Offers page of our website (plus some new downloadable driving instructions) but here are some highlights in a nutshell:
1 to 3 June – Adults Only Weekend (or kid free, if you prefer!) – fully booked, so get in now for the next one 24 to 26 August.
Tuesday 19 to Friday 22 June – rooms and riding available for mid week guests. Make us a reasonable offer, and you never know………… Stay the following weekend for our popular “Pub Ride Weekend”
Friday 22 to Sunday 24 June – Pub Ride Weekend. Long canters, a day in the saddle, a HUGE lunch at the O’Connell Hotel, and time in our hot spa and by roaring open fires..
Monday 25 to Friday 29 June – Winter Kids Camp. Just perfect for horse mad 10 to 15 year old kids! We escort the kids from and back to Sydney on the XPT train. Only 4 places left……….
Friday 29 June to Sunday 15 July – NSW School Holidays. Blocks of 2, 3 and 4 days available. Always something special run during school holidays… And your kids won’t ever want to leave!!
